We happened to be in Kent last year on vacation, and since the nearest supermarket was a Marks & Spencer we went in there and did the required shopping. What immediately struck me was the enormous choice of ham!!! We got some and I can tell you I've never tasted better hame than M&S' Smoked Wiltshire Ham. Sooo much better than anything in the Netherlands.

And I also really like the British obsession with lamb... Except somebody needs to go and tell those chaps in Launceston (Cornwall) to make sure there's less fat in it. Or is that a Cornish thing to do???

Ham? In England? I though they where more of a lamb country. If you want pork, go to Poland. Razz The Dude

Don't like pork, way too much fat. And I don't mean it like I'm some kind of dieting cholesterol-fearing freak, I just don't like big white edges of jellylike fat to be around my meat. Hence, I don't generally like bacon.

In ham in sausage it's usually cut out, but in pork bacon it isn't so I do it myself.

I know. Ham sometimes has fat edges which I cut off, but fortunately my dog loves them. As for bacon though, the amount of fat is generally so large and also so much spread about the slice of bacon that when all fat edges are removed, all you're left with are small bits of meat that happened to be in between the fat. Almost all Indonesian food contain no pork.
Some of the best of us are:
1. Nasi Goreng (influenced by Chinese)
2. Satay
3. Soto (something alike soup)
4. Rawon

The worst
1. Jengkol
2. Petai
3. Cacing goreng (fried nematoda) :eyesrolling:
