What political system do you like best?
The Political System Thread
What political system do you like best?
Constitutional Monarchy?
Absolute Monarchy?
Constitutional Oligarchy?
Absolute Oligarchy?
Democratic Republic?
Enlightened Despotism?
Single Party State?
Pantisocracy?
Anarchy?
Or one of many others?
Why can't I edit the poll? Damnit.
Can you make up to two systems pickable by one user?

Re: The Political System Thread
What happened with communism in that poll?
It may be flawed, but it's still an option.
I think Constitutional Oligarchy, but, most of them suffer the problem that if the leader(s)'s weak, then no kind of goverment will save it... Oligarchy just reduces the posibility of having a weak leader.

Re: The Political System Thread
I think that constitutionalism government is the best one so far, but I hope that a new one will emerge and be better than the others.

Re: The Political System Thread
@Hoop Thrower: Communism can't be in, because it's not a political system, but a political ideology. One thing that could be added though is the 'Single Party State', as it's officially a republic but in fact an absolute oligarchy.

I actually think it IS a system. Every system also is an ideology.

Re: The Political System Thread
iliander, that's just complete crap. Communism might have occured in the Netherlands back when there was still a communist party over here, and the result would have been a communist Constitutional Monarchy. In Italy there have been communist governments, which made it a communist Democratic Republic. The Soviet Union was a communist Single Party State, as is North Korea.
Communism isn't tied to one system or the other, even though it tends to occur in Sinle Party States.

Re: The Political System Thread
Belgium is a monarchy indeed. And you've forgotten Spain, which is also a constitutional monarchy.
So? Does a constitutional monarchy stand in the way of that? It's no less democratic than a republic, bear that in mind...

Oh, I forgot my favourite system...
Pantisocracy!
Everyone rules equally and shares everything.
The best, in my opinion.

Re: The Political System Thread
Real Communism would be amazing! But unfortunately, the fake 'Communists' (really the worst capitalists) have given it a bad name.
Look up Pantisocracy on Google.

Communism is a utopia which unfortunately will never exist because of human nature and unfairness.

Re: The Political System Thread
no it can not, lets say you become a doctor, you work bloody hard, but you are given the same pay as the cleaner who wasn't smart/couldn't care enough to achieve anything higher. I don't know about you, but I don't see that as fare. Or if you get rid og the whole money system, what is the incentive to work hard and become a doctor, engineer, architect etc I would start a revolution solely on unfairness.

Re: The Political System Thread
That is not Communism. If you work harder, you should get better rewards, and if you are able to work but don't, you don't deserve anything. And leaders should have to have an industrial job, like the Ottomans and Trotsky thought.

Re: The Political System Thread
Of course it shouldn't work like that. Your salary should be based on what use you have to the economy. That's why it's fair for Bill Gates to earn billions and the next-door cleaner to earn very little.

The Monarchy never stops, when there is always new marriages: first in Sweden, then in Great Britain and now in Monaco...

Re: The Political System Thread
And what's wrong with that? A constitutional Monarchy is no less democratic than a republic, and as you can see from the poll the supporters of the republic and those of the monarchy are equal in number.
