I never said that. Berries are a lot safer though...

As for pathfinding: I think not. Sure, AoE1 had rubbish pathfinding, but AoE2 was much better already, and AoM and AoE3 are very decent as far as pathfinding is concerned...

About pathfinding: Is it "exploring the map with your Explorer" ? Or what? :lol:

About Berries: Don't gather them in Age I, it slows you down. But when there aren't any animals close-by, Berries can have an advantage.

Well, a crash course of pathfinding then:

If you tell a unit to walk from A to B, it will walk there in a straight line. But what if there's a forest or sea between A and B? Humans would walk around it, but the computer would go straight from A to B again, run into the obstacle and assume B cannot be reached. Pathfinding is the bit of the AI that makes sure the unit walks around the obstacle by first calculating an accesible route, and only then walking to B.

You would think that iliander would work it out by the name. Pathfinding, finding path, moving from A to B, not that difficult to work it out. AoE 1 was so bad at that. I loved the game and I would still play it if it had slightly better pathfinding.

@iliander: Pathfinding affects all moving units. Yours, those of an AI enemy, those of a human enemy, even those of 'Mother Nature'.

Also, what is wrong by playing against the computer, many players I find are not great and provide next to no entertainment. To counter that I play against computer players, they hold out longer than many human players.

Easy is ridiculous
Moderate is too easy
Hard is too easy
Expert is just fine

There's more variation against others, most TAD players are far better than any comp.

Um, for the planes, the formations looks horrible. I suggest putting them in the "phalanx" type formation, so it looks like a reverse trample formation in the air.
