There are still some things needed to do for the patch. For example, we (or Misterscp, to be honest) found a way to fix the weird civ selecting screens in ESO/LAN mode and in Skirmish screen.

There probably isn't a 1.03 patch for Mac, but it doesn't really matter. For the mod to work, all you need is a patch for TAD. Any patch...

Installation should be the same for Mac and Windows. Just use an archive viewer to extract the files to their relevant locations, and it should be fine. Unless I'm missing something important, of course...

WAIT.

as far as I know Mac overwrites the whole maps, not just the files inside those maps.

so you'll have to make sure you overwrite only the actual files...

you can do it manual or download some kind of program I forgot the name

Very nice! Perhaps you (or iliander) could write installation instructions for Mac, as there seems to be more of a knack to it than there is for Windows. If either of you would be so kind, we'd be able to include it in future patches and releases, to make sure other Mac players won't experience the same difficulties.

Well it's a little tricky Shocked

and I'm not sure if i can explain it good, but I'll try. Very Happy

-Unrar Your download of K&B.

-Create a backup of your AOE3 program.

-Take the file from your K&B named RM3 and put it in your: /Documents/Age of Empires III/

-Now go too your AOE3 program and show package contents, and go /Contents/Resources/GameData

-Take the contents from the K&B, To programs folder, and put it in the GameData if it asks to replace do so.
IMPORTANT! you must take contents out of folders, do not ever replace whole folders!

-Once you finish that run TAD And that's it thumbs up

Some Graphics where a little messed up at times (when selecting my HC) but mostly worked great! :lol:

Ok. How the heck do I extract the files? I downloaded the file via Skydrive, and I have Winrar, but where am I supposed to extract it to? I'm kind of lost...

You just need to extract it anywhere, then copy the files inside it according the readme.

hi, small problem here:
i copied the files as the readme says but i can't get it to work - it just starts the normal game (TAD) - lastest patch.
i must be missing something simple - my directory is k:\games\age of empires III\
i put the program files in here, overwriting anything.
i then put the other folder in my documents\my games\
either as the RM3 folder or the K&B folder.
but nothing happens?? (this is on a fresh install)

any ideas?

Well, usually the directory is c:/program files/microsoft games/age of empires III .

I dunno, when I extract the .rar file, it creates a new file instead. Check in your directory if it creates a new Knights and Barbarians- Prologue folder.

yeah i extract and get the knights and barbarians folder - that goes in 'my documents/my games/'
and i put the 'to program files' into the age of empires folder, overwriting the files there.
but opening the exe only starts TAD - not sure what i'm doing wrong?

Could you list all the folders (except the ones whose name consists of only numbers) within your K:\Games\Age of Empires III\ folder?
