Re: eagerly waiting for the prologue..
Welcome!
You can expect the Prologue to be out sometime this November or December.

Beware the invasion of orange-white-green tricolours!
We might not always update the progress threads and things like that, but keep asking us, a little public interest only motivates.

well its not like you have little public interest, i believe this mod has a large following, i have been keeping an eye on it for the last year and only recently have decided to register for this site

Re: eagerly waiting for the prologue..
Well, it's sometimes hard to see from our side. Sure, I know that not everybody is going to create an account here, but I have sometimes had the idea that public interest was going down. It's not that one would be uncomfortable creating something for just a couple of people, but somehow one does work harder when in the knowledge that the result is being eagerly awaited by the many rather than the few.
As such, threads like this are hugely appreciated by me, and I'm sure by the rest of the team as well.

Re: eagerly waiting for the prologue..
Haha, I certainly hope it isn't released the same time as AC:R. Then I'm gonna have some serious problems choosing what to do

Don't worry, by that time I'll be playing AC:R as well.

And Dude and me playing Skyrim on 11.11. so I guess the K&B doesn't really progress in November...
But to keep my post from being too much off-topic, I can tell that I'm working on with Rhodopes map. We have lots of more information coming of maps later, but I can reveal that Rhodopes has one lake, the terrain is hilly and there are lots of forests.

Don't worry, we'll resume progress about Mid-July that following year. :lol:And Dude and me playing Skyrim on 11.11. so I guess the K&B doesn't really progress in November...
Anyways, right now I can let you know, I'm working on Siege and Naval tactics. Since siege is such a big part of K&B, and I felt naval warfare was neglected in AoE 3 I'll be sure to work extra time on both.
Re: eagerly waiting for the prologue..
Well, siege warfare will certainly be much more different in this mod than in normal aoe3, I remember having seen pavices and some kind of catapult based on the flying crow so, cool...

Re: eagerly waiting for the prologue..
I always hated those games that allow infantry with a club to bring down a large stone wall(or worse with a torch), it makes it kill the realism. Atleast the game will be alot more realistic with this mod aswell, which makes me look forword to this even more

Re: eagerly waiting for the prologue..
Well, I think the torches of AoE3 were an enormous improvement over earlier games. And to be entirely honest, it'll still be possible to take down walls with torches in K&B, but it will take an absolute eternity.

And because of that you'll need something else that is faster...

Re: eagerly waiting for the prologue..
So, what you'll essentially do is to give a debuff to non-siege units which makes them worthless against stone constructions?

Re: eagerly waiting for the prologue..
Well, against Walls and Castles. They'll still be able to take down other buildings quite effectively. To take down a Wall you need a Sapper or a ranged artillery piece (Ballista or Bombard). Battering Rams are also extremely useful, but they can only attack Gates.
