K&B Prologue Installation Problems

If you have problems installing K&B Prologue, please post it here.

Continuing my odyssey of install related issues, my AI appears to never work. I just get an error message at the beginning of each game, in the loading screen. In addition, though moved into the MyGames-AOE3 folder, the new maps will not show. Help? I'm pretty bad at this whole mod installation thing without really clear instructions.

You're not supposed to move it into the My Games\Age of Empires 3 folder, you're supposed to move it to the My Games\Knights and Barbarians folder. Create one of that name if it doesn't exist...

I assume that folder should contain the same files as the AOE3 one, plus the K&B ones?

once the KnB folder exists and you start AOE3 all missing files will be created. You just have to copy the Random Maps from our folder.

Edit: Nevermind. Maps work. What vexes me is that every time I start a game, I get an error message reading "XS Error 0003: could not compile 'ailoaderstandardxs' "

The AI proceeds to do nothing during the game.

Something wrong with the installation, again...

i have problem installing it by the r0gerblack's modloader, it says,
error upgrade1 tad error upgrade2 0?

Roger Black's modloader isn't supported by the K&B Team, so you need to ask him about this problem. If you want to play K&B with modloader, please try SCP Modloader.

is scp modloader by mr.scp?

Hi, i am new and i have a problem in my installation, i followed the installing instructions, but when i open K&B, it appears me this:
"initialization failed could not load DATAPY.BAR"
Can any one help me? (i already have AOE3 & TAD uptaded and i have the patch 1.03 for TAD)

Try patching TAD again, you'll find them here: http://www.ensemblestudios.com/gameUpdates_yp.aspx

If that doesn't help, the normal procedure is to reinstall Aoe3 + expansions completely, patch the game and install the mod.

I already tried to patch it again, it doesn't work to me, but i will try to reinstall it.

Good to hear that. The Homecities haven't been finished but thry are high on the priority list.
Quintessence is too far away to say any accurate release dates.

Hello everybody.
I have problems to install the mod.
I followed the instructions, put the Knights and Barbarians Folder in the MyGames Folder, and put all the Files from the "to program files" folder, in the MyGames/Aoe3 Folder.
Right so?
When I start Aoe AD, it's still the original.

What did I do wrong?

You need to put the files from the "To Program Files" to C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Age of Empires III\.
If you're running the Steam version, the correct folder is C:\Program Files(x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Age Of Empires 3\bin.

Hey, AOE_Fan, can you expect at least the year?

Definitely not 2013, possibly 2014, surely 2015. It's really hard to even say the year, as we want Quintessence to be released when it's finished, not by a certain date like Prologue. It depends very much on speed of research, as aspects like coding and balancing have already a good base and doesn't need to be done from the scratch.

In general, civilisations like the French and English that are relatively easy to do and require little artwork could be done in a week or two each, but there's also the Spanish, Germans, Slavs and Mongols, which require a lot more coding and texturing and therefore take longer to complete. Also, there is the not-unimportant matter of RMs, as much of the world still needs to be sculpted into K&B before we can think about releasing the Quintessence.

add it to mygames folder so it will loo like this
