Re: Campaign Suggestions
In certain aspects, yes. Those aspects were few and shattered though, so I think it's a noble goal to try and bring all the good things about AoE1, AoE2, AoE3 and the ideas of the community together. Then you get K&B.

Re: Campaign Suggestions
Just a thought, but I'd like to see a campaign that shows both sides of a war or conflict (or a series of them), if you know what I mean. (i.e if it was a Crusade Act, act 1 as crusaders trying to reach Jerusalem, Act 2 playing as Saracens, etc., or Hundred Years War, act 1 as British, act 2 as French, etc.)
Also, it would be nice if you could find something that didn't always involve destroying. I thought the original AoE III campaigns had way too much destroying. I read a book on scenario-making, and one of the no-nos was having a buildup and attack sequence in most scenarios.
That being said, I think the Hundred Year's War and Crusades are both excellent candidates.

Re: Campaign Suggestions
Well, we haven't quite gotten around to the campaign quite yet, but I can tell you that our campaign will be a continuation of sorts of the campaigns seen in AoE3. I would agree though that while there was some variation in the goals of different campaign scenarios from the original game, it could be much wider still, and we intend to do that wherever we can.

Suggestion
Okay, so this Idea would be chronologically the first, but I think it would be awesome.
Campaign Name: Fall of The Empire
Civ: Germanic Tribes(More specifcally Goths), and the Romans
Story: After the Huns invaded the Germans, and Romans(Age old enemies), must unite. After the huns are defeated however, the Romans take advantage of the weakened Germans, and sell women and children of the German tribes into slavery while the German warriors are fighting off the Huns. When the German warriors return, the tribe leaders Odoacer and Alaric unite the Germans against the Romans, and they wage war against Rome, and eventually behead the emperor. Yes this is historical, and yes this is the start of the dark ages.
Geographical description: It's in Italy, and Germany. Heavy forests, mountains and water are all abundant.

Welcome to the forum, Sodord!
However, for now we don't need campaign suggestion, as for now we will focus on the Prologue instead. But stay tuned!

Re: Campaign Suggestions
I would personally like to see an end-age scenario on the 30 Years' War or even BOTH of the sieges of Vienna. They all would use the Germans and for the Sieges of Vienna, you would have the Turks and even Slavs involved. I think both of those are great ideas for a Late Middle Ages and Renaissance era scenario/campaign.

Re: Campaign Suggestions
Well, there's three things I'd like to say about that. Firstly, our campaign won't just be a string of historical scenarios like that of AoE2, but will instead have a storyline, much like unmodded AoE3 does. Secondly, our timeline ends in 1500, with the possibility to be overstretched to about 1550. The mid-17th century is way too far though, that's more NE's timeline than K&B's. Finally, and perhaps most importantly, the campaign isn't our number one priority at the moment.
