Major Forum Update

Thank you all for being patient during the update, we have used our time well and managed to achieve most of the desired changes. Here's a little summery of what's new:

- Large reorganisation of smileys
- Update to phpBB3
- Major updates to the forum's theme, including changed colours, category headers, warning bars, icons, buttons and voting bars
- The ability to assign icons to topics
- General cleanout of the forums
- Reputation system, where posts can be rated
- A new page called Features, which doubles as the new homepage
- Nationality instead of Location (don't forget to fill in your Nationality correctly)
- Working RPG (more instructions will follow)
- Updated security

Any future major updates will also use this thread.

So, is this "massive forum update" on all .heavenforum.org forums, or only in this one? It looks like now everything is in different places, it looks just weird! But maybe the update isn't ready yet...

If possible, try to keep the same theme. And do not make it look exactly like WotTA forums!

Yes, I'm always so conservative with layout changes. It's odd that you can't see the forum as guest, but you can log in and then see everything. But finish the update and then we can make some topic where we can fight about it!

Truly, it just looks fantastic! Nothing beats simple white and gray mix, though I didn't find any bad things from the old layout.

Sure, the old one wasn't bad either. We just found ourselves in a situation where we wanted to add more and more features, and still retain a clean and simple look. I know that to achieve that we could have left some things as they were, but hey, just see the extra changes as an added bonus.

And is it now possible to maybe include a Forum Shop, instead of a manual one? Because it would be very useful when someone wants to request a "Random K&B Fact".

Oh, it's just that if I ask a question and you give a useful answer I can press the 'Thanks' button, which gives you a reputation increase. Also, I can rate your post by pressing the little '+' and '-' icons to the right of the post, this will also affect your reputation.

Btw, what does this 'Reputation' thing do?

You can "vote" on posts made by other users, by clicking on + when you like the post or - when you don't like it. You can find those buttons on the right of every post (except your own post). You start on 0, but it can increase and decrease depending on how many "good" posts and "bad" posts you have. It's your reputation, decided by other users.

I found one cool thing! Though there are only 9 fonts in font bar, you can use almost all the same as in some text-editors (I use LibreOffice). You can just look at my signature...

Of course you can. It's like font size, where you get 6 (or so) choices, but you can alter the numbers to be whatever you want. You'll be surprised how flexible BBCode is.
