Because We Consider the Insects

Preamble
This thread is solely made because I get a partial idea this morning about a game, strategy game like AOE III, whose civilizations are insects. When you kill a unit, it can slowly decompose, but before it did, you can gather it like a food source. Flowers contain honey, that can be nutrition if kept inside granary and switched (takes time).

Resources: nutrition (resemble food), material (resemble wood), population, honey (resemble coin)

There are 5 civs, both of them shared same units:
1. Worker: Work like settler in AOE III. Cost 100 nutrition, worth 70 nutrition.
2. Queen: Work like town center. Can move slowly. Train eggs, that have to be keep on holes. To activate cost 1500 nutrition, worth 3000 nutrition.
3. Drone: The ones that used to activate young queen. Cost 800 nutrition and 200 honey, consume 50 nutrition per time, worth 500 nutrition.
4. Soldier: Melee unit. Cost 200 nutrition and 50 honey. Worth 300 nutrition.
5. Larva: Let me say children. Comes from eggs that hatched from holes. Have to sent to barrack (become soldier or scout) or to chamber (become worker, young queen, or drone).
6. Scout: A scout. Cost 100 nutrition and 100 honey. Worth 150 nutrition.
7. Young Queen: Let me say like a town center wagon. Can fly. Have to be f*cked by the drone ( :lol: ). Cost 750 nutrition and 200 honey. Worth 1500 nutrition.

Every civ shared these buildings:
1. Queen Hall: Place where the queen reside.
2. Holes: House, place to keep larva till they are old enough to be sent into barrack or chamber.
3. Barrack: Place to grow the larva into soldier or scout. Also to train mercenary.
4. Chamber: Place to grow the larva into queen, worker, or drone.
5. Granary: Place to keep your nutrition and honeys. It can switch nutrition into honey or vice versa.

Civilization:
1. Black Ant
Resemble all black colored ants, despite their taxonomy or real habits. Uniqueness: Attacker civ, soldier cost far cheaper.
Bonus:
- Queen lays eggs faster
UU:
1. Bullet Ant: Pikemen unit. Cost 400 nutrition. Worth 300 nutrition.
2. Jumper Ant: "Archer" unit. Cost 350 nutrition and 50 honey. Worth 150 honey.

2. Red Ant
Resemble all red colored ants, despite their taxonomy or real habits. Uniqueness: Liliput civ, all unit are smaller and thus cost less pop ( :lol: )
Bonus:
- Larvas turn into other unit faster.
UU:
1. Fire Ant: Super soldier. Cost and worth twice of normal soldier.
2. Honeypot: Ant that will increase honey inside his body when he eat. To get the honey, he have to be harvested by worker. Cost 100 honey. Worth as much honey inside his body at the time.

3. Weaver Ant
Resemble weaver ant genus. Uniqueness: House provide more pop, can build farm.
Bonus
- Gather from leaves faster than any other civ.
UU:
1. Farmer Ant: Ant that can farming. Cost 120 nutrition. Worth 80 nutrition.
2. Harvester Ant: Ant that can harvest leaves to be planted. Cost 120 nutrition. Worth 80 nutrition.

4. Bee
Resemble all bees. uniqueness: They can fly..., all unit cost honey (thus they do not care 'bout nutrition)
Bonus:
- All honey gathered will be counted twice.
UU:
1. Mason bee: Builder bee. Cost 200 honey. Worth 150 nutrition.
2. Bumblebee: Secondary worker, that is better. Cost 150 honey. Worth 80 nutrition.
3. Wasp: Mercenary unit. Cost 300 honey. Worth 200 nutrition.

5. Termite
Resemble termite kingdom. Uniqueness: Has fort building that grows all the time.
Bonus:
- Gathers wood faster
UU:
1. Mastotermes: Giant termite worker, worth more HP and gathered more. Cost 500 nurtrition, worth 400 nutrition.
2. Cockroach: Mercenary unit. Good for scouting and spreading Herpes to your enemy. Cost 250 nutrition and 50 honey. Worth 300 nutrition.

6. Hornet
Resemble hornet family. Uniqueness: Big body, strong against worker, has two kind of queen (Yellow Jacket and Bald-Faced) and they can fly...
Bonus:
- Assault: Send 10 idle hornets from any class (except Queen, young queen, and drone) to attack your enemy base. After 30 second, they who still life will back.
UU:
1. Bald-Faced Hornet: Special hornet, good for defender. Cost 500 nutrition. Worth 300 nutrition.
2. Samurai Giant: Japanese giant hornet, as strong as a tank for insects. Cost 2000 nutrition. Worth 1500 nutrition.

Hunting animal:
1. Stag Beetle: Let me say they are like deers in AOE III, but have attack.
2. Rhino Beetle: rhino that can be harvested?
3. Fly: Can be found around the fruits.
4. Mosquito: Flying around and sometimes drink your pets.
5. Caterpillar: Slow, armored animal that contain huge amount of nutrition.
6. Butterfly: Beautiful flying food source.
7. Pupa: Caterpillar in process to be butterfly. They will be like berries Razz
8. Millipede: A train that can be harvested. :lol:

Dangerous animal:
1. Antlion: Makes trap in the sand or soil.
2. Spider: can hide as an ant (shown like an ant to player) and turns into spider and eat some ants.
3. Ladybug: not strong, but kills (eat) the pet aphids.
4. Frog: hide under water or on the lotus plants.
5. Mantis: Cut, cut, cut, eat.
6. Centipede: A train that can eat your unit :lol: .
7. Rove Beetle: It is famous in Java these days...

Herd animal:
1. Aphid: Like a sheep? :lol:
2. Leafhopper: Like a cow? :lol:

Dangerous plant:
1. Venus Flytrap: Eat every animal close to it.
2. Nephentes: The same with flytrap.

Other food sources:
1. Trees.
2. Flowers
3. Picnic box: :lol:
4. Fruits

Some things:
1. All animal consume nutrition or honey, so if you have nutrition or honey number 0, your insect will be dieing.
2. Lunch Time clock: every 3 minutes, all animal will consume their food (nutrition or honey).
3. Larva has metamorphose meter, so if it is come to zero, it will turns into worker or soldier (possibility 3:1).
4. All animal will be older, and die.
5. There are the ways to death:
- Get no food.
- Old
- Killed
- For Drone, fertilizing a female
6. If your colony has no more nutrition or honey, there will be a cannibalism in your colony.
7. Queen, after being fertilized, will be unable to move fast. It can lays up to 1000 eggs.

Here is the maps:
1. Swamp
Some trees grows up on the deep for insect water. Some frogs and fishes hides under water. There are some leaves to be used as boat, or flies to be enslaved.
2. Vineyard
A vast field of grapes. You'll find that you can easily get honey, or clapped by human...
3. Home Sweet Home
You're inside an old fashioned house, maybe on the roof, or under table. Granny and child will be problem for you, beside their dog and pet spider.
4. City Park
Some people goes picnic and they are good resource source for you. However, they bring an insectivore, dangerous enemy to you.
5. Backyardigan!
You're at backyard, with a sand pond, some child toys, and place to fight for.
6. Desert
A desert, some tarantula under the soil, or scorpion on the dunes will be problem.
7. Pond
A beautiful Japanese pond to fight for.

And he stays to let this idea of game as idea of game, not IDEA OF MOD. WTH will happen if AOE III include some giant INSECTS?!

And eh, I do some biological research and found that Hornet can be independent civ, as some of it life socially.

Well, building an insect culture isn't as easy as making man's culture. Man's cultures are clearly has some big similarity, but insects, no. Some of them are truly different.

For now, here are the list:
1. Ant Class (not culture, as the type of building made by weaver ant in the real world is different with the other class): 3 civs.
2. Termite Class: 1 civ
3. Bee/Wasp Class: 2 civs.

We don't need termites, they're blind and only 1 kind (I think).

And Wasps are more related to Ants than to Bees.

And no, there is no wasp civilization for now, but they can be added...

Here are the answers why I added termite:
1. They are mortal enemy of the ants.
2. They life socially.
3. They are small enough.
