The Lawyer's Club

Preambule

This club is a judgment hall, where the judges (in this case Moderators and Admins) judge some cases of spam or other inappropriate behavior. Cases need to be based on hard evidence, and suspects can try to make the judge think otherwise by providing counter-evidence of their own. Suspects can also ask help from a lawyer (which can be any forum member). Witnesses may also have their say in a case, this being of particular use in cases built around hidden discussions like the chatbox or PM messages.

When enough evidence can be provided that suspect is guilty, a judge may decide on his verdict, which will then be applied to said suspect. If the suspect or his lawyer seriously disagrees with the verdict, they may apply for the case to be redone in the High Court.

If a case is minor, the prosecution can decide to simply fine the suspects instead of going to trial.

Possible Forms of Inquiry
1. Public Trial (everybody who wants to speak gets their say and there will be a poll, poll decides)
3. Trial by Judge (witnesses, lawyers, suspect, and judges get their say, judge decides)
4. Jurisprudence Constante (none get their say, judge decides based on past verdicts)
5. No Trial (none get their say, Grand Inquisitor decides the verdict and fine)

3. Temporary chatbox ban
4. Permanent chatbox ban
5. Temporary ban from specific forum
6. Permanent ban from specific forum
7. Temporary ban from all K&B forums

Decreasing ducats will makes somebody learn that opening dozen topics is not a right way for gathering ducats.
Note: punishment decreased to 250 ducats. For now, decreasing is impossible as the Dude disable moderator to do it.

This is a good system and I formally request to become a lawyer (either prosecutor or defence). I can be very persuasive. Also I have done a quick study in law for a year.

Lawyer can be chosen by suspect only. Beside that, only iliander that may be a Pro Deo Lawyer (because he is a knight).

In fact, prosecutor must be the one who knows much about the forum's law, not the one who knows about the country's law.

Very true, but if I were to be charged now, I'd know to choose Nero as my barrister...

PS: What is a barrister?

An alternate term for lawyer. Actuall it's more specific, a barrister is a lawyer that specialises in the defense (the suspect side of court), whereas a sollicitor (yet another term for laywer) is more of a general know-all of the law and thus more like a jurist.
