We are having Barbarians (our name for Natives) yes, but we don't have any planned for this particular map.

Well, we sort of have a list that's more or less decided. Slavs will be a main civ actually, be it that their main focus is on the Kingdom of Poland... On the Balkans Map we'll have the Huns and the Avars, that's something I can give away.

The main reason is that we haven't done treasures yet, nor have we made proper minimap icons for Barbarian settlements. Being the perfectionist that I am I first want to get those done so that the mini maps released actually look like they will ingame.

I keep feeling like the civ bonuses are kind of simplistic, maybe it's just that I'm not used anymore to normal aoe3 style bonuses. Still having in mind it's Byzantium, I would have thought they'd keep their aoe2 bonus of buildings getting stronger with each age up.
Nonetheless, I love defensive civs, and the gold trickle just makes it better, so it's probably the first civ I'd try if I ever install the mod. Very Happy

Don't worry about the bonuses, those are only some of them, in total there are much more of them. Wink

By the way, why are barbarians called barbarians? Were the first to be called that from Barbary, or did they just have beards? (I know most Romans were quite clean-shaven)

EDIT: I just looked it up in the dictionary and apparently it means foreign in Greek or something.
